Soprano by ASWARA - A Night to Remember

Date : 21 November 2013
Venue:  Prague Conservatory

And the day of the The Ambassadors Concert Series arrived with a grand
evening of music at the Prague Conservatory.

"One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain."
-- Bob Marley

Indeed, the music played hit my mind and soul. I ain't sure if i did
not feel any pain as Bob Marley claims, but i can assure you that i
was floating into a complete different world.

The Soprano Concert started exactly at 1930H with a very short speech
by Mr Nik Daud, acting Malaysian ambassador in Czech, Prof Hatta and
representative from Prague Arts School. Then the most awaited moment,
took place. Malaysia's renowned pianist, Muzaffar Abdullah made a solo
performance comprising works by both European and Malaysian composers,
including Alexander Scriabin, Ludwig van Beethoven, Gustav Mahler and
Razak Abdul Aziz.

Following that, a combined beautiful performance by the pianist and
the soprano artist, Siti Chairani Proehoeman took the stage. A little
biography about these artists, Chairani Proehoeman is a soprano singer
who has been performing in Europe for the past 50 years, and in
Malaysia she was tasked by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism
to establish the National Choir Team of Malaysia. Abdullah is a
pianist who has studied, lived and taught in France for a long time,
but he has also founded the International Piano Festival and served as
the artistic director for a decade in Malaysia.

The event also had few performances of combined soprano and piano
performances by students of Prague Arts School. All the performances
received a great applause from the audience.

Another thing that must be mentioned here is that, the great artwork
of P Ramlee, "Tunggu Sekejap"  was also staged. I am sure every
Malaysian that attended must have a great sense of pride hearing the
famous local song in the Bohemian Land.

Indubitably, it’s definitely a night to remember =)

"Without music, life would be a mistake."
-- Friedrich Nietzsche, Twilight of the Idols

Our Diplomatic Relation Officer, Encik Nik, giving his welcoming speech.

Astounded: The crowd dazed by the energy of performance from the pianist,
Muzaffar Abdullah.

Fellow performers presented with flowers as a symbol of appreciation for their amazing performances.
